LuxTurrim5G

LuxTurrim5G is a unique digital backbone as a testbed for future city needs. The project is a joint effort of 26 partners including companies, universities, research institute and City of Espoo. Innovation ecosystem is driven by Nokia. The pilot 5G network built in the Kera area includes three 26 GHz base stations by Nokia, 50 WiFi (60 GHz) devices, 75 video cameras, 49 different sensors monitoring air quality, weather, temperature and CO2 levels, 9 radar devices, 7 information screens, and a drone charging and landing station at the top of the pole. All the devices are connected to a single data platform, where new data can be incorporated from different sources. The sensor data enables the possibility to develop a high-level digital twin of the city.
