The Tampere Events App offers its users plenty of information about the event, routes and services. In the future, the app is hopefully used widely in all kinds of events in Tampere.
Tampere Events App was launched in the IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere on 10-15 July 2018. The Tampere Events App included information on the IAAF World U20 Championships schedules, services at the Ratina Stadium, benefits from partners, as well as guidance and wayfinding. The app allowed users to choose their favourite competitions and gave notification when that particular sport was about to start.
This year (2018) Tampere Events App also included other major events at the Ratina Stadium, such as Finnkampen and Popeda band’s 40th anniversary concert. In the future, the app will cover all kinds of events taking place in Tampere.
– The app will be developed further on the basis of users’ wishes. We are already planning additional features such as queueing information at gates and service points as well as the traffic situation near event locations, Joela continues.
For professionals, the Tampere Events App functions as a publishing system where the event organiser can publish their own event either directly in the basic view of the app or they can use the platform to create a separate app with its own name and look. Service providers can add their own services and offers to the app base, the event organiser will then choose the most appropriate ones for their event. Guidance and wayfinding information is updated to the app automatically through the city’s open data interfaces.
The Tampere Events App can be used for all kinds of events and it works in both Android and iOS devices. Both the look and the features of the event can be edited to suit the needs of the event organizer and event partners.
The app is not intended to benefit only event participants and organisers in Tampere, it can be used to publish events in any city.
Tampere Events App can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The Tampere Events App is created by the City of Tampere’s Smart Tampere programme project Six Cities City Guidance Ecosystem project and Visit Tampere. It is funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The app is developed by Eatech Oy.
