AV1-robots

The AV1-robot works as eyes, ears, and voice for students that for some reason cannot be present in the classroom over a more extended period.  This gives children that suffers from long-term sickness the ability to follow the curriculum and be a part of the social activities that go on at school. Students can participate from home or the hospital using an iPad, and the AV1-robot is present in the classroom for them.

The City of Stavanger has purchased 10 AV1-robots that the schools can lend as needed. So far, three schools have taken the robot in use.

As an extension of the project, Stavanger is looking into the possibilities of using the robot with gifted students. The AV1-robot can then be placed in a classroom with a more challenging curriculum, and the student can follow the classes from a group room at their school.
